SONANGOL, TOTAL and Partex Oil and Gas announced the oil discovery in Block 17/06 of Angola offshore.

Gardénia-1, the first well drilled in this block, with a water depth of 977 meters, led to the 1st discovery on Block 17/06.

The hydrocarbon reservoirs are located in the Miocenic and Oligocene formation. During the test phase the well produced 4,000 barrels of oil per day in the Miocenic formation with an API of 25 degrees.

This discovery confirms the potential of Block 17/06.

Sonangol, E.P. is the Concession Owner of Block 17/06. Total E&P is the Operator with 30% interest jointly with Sonangol E&P (30%), SSI Seventeen Ltd (27.5%), Falcon Oil Holding Angola S.A. (5%) and Partex Oil and Gas (Holdings) Corporation (2.5%).
