The Partex Oil and Gas Group became a partner with Oman Oil Company (OOC), a company wholly owned by the Government of Oman, in the development of a field in West Kazakhstan. Partex Oil and Gas owned 50% working interest in the Dunga field Production Sharing Agreement and was operator for the construction, commissioning of the pilot phase operation of the field. In 2002, Partex and OOC decided to reduce their participating interests to 20%, respectively, through a farm-out to Maersk Oil Kazakhstan Gmbh, which became the operator of the field.
