Corporate Responsibility

The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation owns 100% of the Partex Oil and Gas Group Companies. The Foundation, with Headquarters in Lisbon, is a private Institution of public utility whose statutory purposes privileged the arts, education, science and charitable purposes.

A distinctive characteristic of the Partex Oil and Gas Group is that the dividends arising from our activity are delivered to our sole Shareholder, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and used for the benefit of mankind. This is an important driver for our staff´s motivation and commitment to the fulfillment of the Group´s mission.

The social intervention of the Foundation extends to different countries around the world, and covers a wide-range of philanthropic activities helping relevant institutions and people from different cultures to benefit from educational, scientific and cultural programmes, as well as from scholarships, grants, and subsidies. Detailed information about the social intervention can be found on the Internet at

Some initiatives are of global relevance and as such, they are developed in cooperation with other welfare institutions. An example is the “Golden Web” project, which aims at creating a network that will enable the free flow of knowledge about worldwide cultures in their multifaceted aspects.

Partex itself also directly supports initiatives orientated towards social development. A recent example is the awarding of a donation to the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (Jordan) related to the acquisition of a Mobile Mammography Unit.

The Philantropic character of our shareholder is reflected on the values ruling our company.
